Haiku is a type of Japanese poetry. It consists of a short poem of seventeen syllables, written in three verses of five, seven and five syllables respectively.
Haiku poetics is generally based on the astonishment and emotion [aware] that contemplation of reality produces in the poet.
This literary genre presents much more complexity than it seems but in western eyes haiku is characterized by a great economy of means for a maximum of expressiveness. And that is what I have tried to achieve with this project, small works on paper that, using the elements that define my work but in a very limited proportion, achieve expressiveness quickly, very directly and effectively. This greatly modifies the paradigm that has characterized my work so far, mainly based on slow, lengthy contemplation.
I hope the change is worth it and that you enjoy it the same way I did when I created them.
