BENJAMIN TORCAL TORRES

Heavily simbolic painting who drinks and refers to the most diverses sources, mithology, classical culture, materialism or divine proportion. All of them through an anthropological glance that gives the imprescindible plot thread.
Its almost wild gestures, print an orderly chaotic and voluntarily eclectic character where we can appreciate the expressionist brush stroke and a use of color that remind us the Renaissance.
Abstract landscapes inhabited by his sketched figures that, some more than others, manage to get any of their traits afloat and they have a lot about of sculptural and classic. Immediately they bring to mind sacred characters as those made by Raphael and Michelangelo.
Figurative references that bring us to the rites, fundamental human relationships, intimate relationships between man and earth, the individual and the universe.
The stale dichotomy between figuration and abstraction, finds in the work of Benjamin Torcal another element to express the fictional opposition between both artistic sides.
